UP Governor, CM condole Chandra Shekhar's demise

Lucknow, July 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar has expressed deep grief over the demise of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar.

In his condolence message, Mr Rajeswar said, ''Mr Chandra Shekhar was a great parliamentarian and was honoured with an outstanding Parliamentarian award.'' Praying for the peace of the departed soul, the Governor lended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Besides, Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh expressed deep sorrow on the death of the former PM, saying ''it was a set back for his party.'' The UP government announced a two-day mourning in the state over the death of the octogenerian leader.
