Raghuvansh condoles the death of Chandra Sekhar
Patna, July 8 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar and said the country had lost its ''young turk''.
Condoling the death of Chandra Shekhar, Mr Singh said the former Prime Minister was a 'fearless' politician and had always raised the issues of oppressed sections in the parliament.
He always strived for maintaining the decorum of the Parliament.
''The country would remember him as a veteran socialist leader and freedom fighter,'' he added.
Meanwhile, Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said Chandra Sekhar never compromised with his ideologies and even being a Congress MP, he had opposed the emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
The function was organised at the local JD (U) office where several cabinet colleagues of Bihar chief Minister Nitish Kumar paid tributes to the departed leader by observing one minute silence.
