Panasonic Weldings to set up demo room in Gurgaon
New Delhi, July 8: Leading welding equipment maker Panasonic Welding Systems Company Ltd (PWSCL) has said it will set up a demo room in Gurgaon, with an investment of Rs three crore by next month.
''The work is already on progress and we will soon start its functioning where people can be trained to handle the equipments,'' said Panasonic Industrial Asia Pte Ltd Assistant Manager Aman Jain.
The company is also mulling to set up more demo rooms in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. ''The location and timing of these sites will be determined by market demand,'' he added.
PWSCL is a market leader in Japan and China and plans to increase its market share in India.
When asked whether they plan to set up a manufacturing plant in India, Mr Jain said they were planning a plant but refused to divulge any details. Currently, the company imports all the machinery from its Japan and China plants.
''We will focus on the western and southern states as they have huge untapped market,'' Mr Jain said adding that they are eyeing the shipping and the construction industry for more businesses.
