One killed, four injured in wall collapse

Belgaum, July 8 (UNI) One person was killed and four others were injured when a compound wall collapsed, while they were trying to clear the water from a marooned foundry, here today.

Police said the private factory shed was surrounded by water due to the recent heavy rains and a group of workers went to clear the water. However, while they worked, the wall collapsed on them killing Sridhar Arun Lad (19) of the city.

The injured had been admitted to a hospital.

Meanwhile heavy rains had resumed in parts of the district with Belgaum and Khanapur taluks recording heavy rains. In view of the heavy rains authorities had declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the affected places tomorrow.
