NSG jawan, UP resident killed and 9 injured in Kashmir accidents

Srinagar, July 8 (UNI) A National Security Guard (NSG) personnel and a resident of Uttar Pradesh were killed and nine others injured in seperate accidents in the Kashmir valley today.

A police spokesman said a NSG Naik N Pankaj Kumar was standing on the road near a bank at Residency road when a Tata Sumo vehicle hit him.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.

A Kothibagh police station wall was also damaged in the incident, he added.

Meanwhile, in a seperate incident, another Tata Sumo vehicle on way to Srinagar collided with a truck near Damjan Qazigund, causing injuries to eight passengers.

The injured were immediately admitted to the nearby hospital where one Raju Kumar Varma, a resident of Uttar Pradesh succumbed to his injuries.

In other incidents one Saif-uddin Khan was injured when he was hit by a speedy vehicle at Putkhah in south Kashmir, while a boy was sufferred injuries in a similar accident at Nutnusa. He was later admitted to a hospital.
