MBD targets Rs 100 cr turnover from new portal

New Delhi, July 8: Leading publishing house MBD group has said it expects a turnover of Rs 100 crore in the first year from its newly launched educational portal 'MBD Alchemie.' ''MBD Alchemie offers various short and long-term courses to students of class 10 and 12 and about five lakh students appear for boards examination every year. Keeping this in mind, we are targeting a revenue of Rs 100 crore in the first year of its launch ,'' company's Director Monica Malhotra said during the launch of the portal.

The company had initially invested Rs 20 crore in 'MBD Alchemie' and tied-up with largest broadband service provider Sify I-Ways for convenience in bandwidth connectivity.

Under the alliance, a student can study at any Sify I-Ways in the country free of cost.

'MBD Alchemie is an online interactive academy for students of CBSE, AIEEE and AIPMT aspirants. The course is priced at Rs 150 per month for every subject.

''A 15 days free demo on www.mbdalchemie.com will be provided to students interested in the course, after which a student can apply for the course,'' added Ms Malhotra.

The company is planning to launch new courses for IIT-JEE, state CETs and state boards and many more.

'MBD Alchemie' has 14 offices across the country, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, Patna, Lucknow, Kota, Cochin, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
