Haryana offers to build memorial for Chandrashekhar
Chandigarh, July 8 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that if the family members of former Prime Minister, Chandrashekher so desired, a suitable memorial for him would be set up at Bhondsi in Gurgaon district of the state.
Interacting with media persons here today, Mr Hooda said that Chandrashekher had a great love and affection towards Haryana and had set up his Ashram in Bhondsi where he stayed for two or three days in a week.
Hailing the departed leader as a multi-faceted, principled, secular and fearless champion of the masses, Mr Hooda, said Chander Shekher left indelible imprint on everyone who came into his contact. In reply to a question, Mr Hooda said that he had the opportunity to work with an eight-time MP, Chandrasekhar, during four terms as a Lok Sabha Member and Chandershekher had showered love and affection upon him.
With an objective to give due honour to the great nationalist leader, the Haryana government had decided to set up a memorial for Chandrashekhar, with the consent of his family, to serve as an inspiration to the generations to come, Mr Hooda said.
