Gujarat Governor pays tribute to Chandra Shekhar

New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, who passed away in New Delhi this morning.

Mr Sharma visited the former Prime Minister's residence at 3 South Avenue Lane and expressed his deep condolence to the family members of late Chandra Shekhar.

The Gujarat Governor paid homage by placing the wreath on body of the departed leader.

He recalled his personal relations with Chandra Shekhar. In a condolence message, the Gujarat Governor said Chandra Shekhar will be remembered for a long time in the Indian politics.

''He was a man of principle and known for courage of conviction and strict follower of principles. He was a great leader," Mr Sharma said.

Deputy Resident Commissioner of Gujarat D K Dave, also offered floral tribute to the departed soul of the leader on behalf of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
