Fire in AP coal mine; 6 persons rescued
Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, July 8 (UNI) Six people were rescued from an underground coal mine after a fire broke out while they were removing some equipment at the Yellandu Coal Mine Zone of the district.
Police said the fire occurred when the victims used gas cutters to dispose equipment in the 'JK 5' Mine. They could not come out due to heavy smoke.
Rescue teams and fire tenders rushed to the place and the trapped persons were rescued from the mine after dousing the flames.An expert team was investigating the cause of the incident.
