Dalwai demands CID probe in Wakf Board deals
Nashik, July 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Congress spokesman Hussain Dalwai today demanded a CID probe into the alleged Wakf Board land scam in the state, including the sale of the Board's property to business tycoon Mukesh Ambani.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Dalwai said the one-man committee appointed by the state government had indicated certain irregularities in transferring the Wakf properties in the state.
Considering the seriousness of charges, he demanded a CID inquiry and the dissolution of the Board.
Urging has asked the Board chairman and executive officer not to intervene when the CID takes charge of the investigation, he said such an inquiry should be held in deals of the Wakf Board properties across the state.
Referring to the property purchased by Mr Ambani, Mr Dalwai said the government should take back the property or Mr Ambani himself should hand over the posh building, which is being constructed on the Board's land.
He demanded that the recommendations of Sachar Committee on the education benefit to the minorities should be implemented from this academic year itself.
