Punjab: Sikh-Dera clash, 20 injured

Ferozepur July 8: Atleast 20 people, including eight cops, were injured in clash between policemen and move of sikhs on the border road in the city today.

The clash took place when the move try to enter the Dera of Sacha Sauda to prevent its followovers from holding 'Namm Charcha' even as authority said no such function was held inside the Dera.

The police resorted the lathicharge and fired few plastic bullets after teargassing failed to disrupts the unruly move who indulged in heavy pelting and threw bricks and broken glasses bottle at the policemen.

Injured, who including three Journalists, were admitted to differents hospital.

Police have cordoned off the areas where shopkeepers have downed the shutters of shops.

Police said situation was under control but tense in the areas.
