19 take ill from suspected food poisoning

Kochi, July 8 (UNI) As many as 19 trainee drivers of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Regional Workshop took ill after consuming food from the workshop canteen at Aluva near here.

The employees who complained of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea were admitted to a local hospital yesterday where they were treated for suspected food poisoning, official sources said.

Sources said the patients were discharged last evening.Food samples had been sent for examination and the report was awaited.
