TN attracted over Rs 9,000 cr investments: CM
Chennai, July 7: Tamil Nadu has attracted investment proposals to the tune of Rs 9,710 crore in the 13 months of the DMK regime in the state, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said today.
Speaking at the inauguration of the third plant of TAFE's battery manufacturing facility at Maraimalainagar near here, Mr Karunanidhi said this was in relation to the Rs 2,220 crore of investments in the state between 2001-06 under the previous regime.
He said the investment levels reflected the DMK government's efforts in attracting and nurturing industrial development in the state.
The chief minister said people now wanted industrial development not only in cities and suburbs, but also in interior villages and added the government will work towards achieving the goal, a statement quoting Mr Karunanidhi said.
