Vadodara, Jul 7 (UNI) The police has registered a complaint against a school principal for allegedly beating a class IV student, resulting in partial blindness in the nine-year-old boy.

Principal Dinesh Pandya, who allegedly threatened the boy with dire consequences if he complained to his parents about the incident, is absconding, police said.

The principal allegedly beat up Jignesh More with a stick presuming that the latter was escaping from an extra class being taken by the class teacher after the usual school time yesterday, for those who had not completed their home work.

The victim's father, Pravin More, said when his son returned home with a bleeding eye, he was taken to the SSG hospital.

Later, a complaint was lodged in the city police station on the basis of the medical report which stated that Jignesh had partially lost his vision in his right eye.

Police officials who visited Gurukul Vidyapith at Warasia Ring Road today to record statements of the class teacher and others, could not trace the principal.
