SHO, three police officers suspended for harrassing youth
New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) One SHO was terminated, a Sub-Inspector and two constables were suspended with immediate effect for allegedly torturing and beating a call centre employee here today.
SSP Satish Ganesh, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) told UNI that SHO Jagdish Kumar was terminated , and SI Prem Kumar Daroga and two constables of Bisrakh Police station were suspended for beating up a call centre employee Tasleem in lock-up without any criminal charges or complaint registered against him.
On July 5 midnight, Tasleem, a call centre employee was reported to be missing for which an FIR of kidnapping was lodged in Noida sector 58 Police station.
Family members of the victim named two persons Arshad and Saleem as suspects, as they allegedly wanted to avenge Tasleem for sheltering their sister, who eloped with with Tasleen's uncle.
During the investigation Arashed and Saleem were found to be the real culprits and subsequently it was revealed that some police officers of Bisrakh Police station abducted Tasleem at their behest.
The police took him to the police station and gave him severe beating The SSP, after considering the gravity of the crime, passed orders of thier termination and suspension with immediate effect. An inquiry committee was set up under ASP Ashok Kumar Vijeta to probe the matter further.
