Lucknow, July 7 (UNI) Representatives of various minority institutions of the state and members of the All-India Minorities Forum for Democracy will meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to end the 'deadlock' in the admission prodecure of professional courses in minority institutions.

Forum chairman Dr Ammar Rizvi told reporters here that a May 2007 Government Order (GO) prohibits minority institutions from admiting students for professional courses, including B ed. ''Under the Constitution, minority institutions are free to admit certain number of students for such courses...such an order is in violation of Article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India and contrary to the judgement of the Supreme Court,'' he said.

He said the GO has given all rights of admissions to professional courses to the Chhatrapati Shajuji Maharaj University, Kanpur which would hold a joint entrance examination (JEE).

''As of now, there is a deadlock in the admission process,'' he claimed.

The Forum has already written to the CM and is now seeking an appointment with her in this regard.
