Ramadoss hopes terror incident won't impact Indian medicos in UK
New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss hoped that the reported involvement of three Indian doctors in UK terror plot would not influence the prospects of Indian medicos working in Britain.
Asked about his reaction to media reports about the UK government planning to make stringent checking before allowing visa to highly trained professionals, Dr Ramadoss told UNI, ''Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already spoken to the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in this regard. We hope that such apprehensions will be misplaced.'' The Prime Minister had spoken to his British counterpart offering all possible help and assistance in the investigation. He had also cautioned that communities should not be targeted while dealing with terrorism and the world should not remain stereotyped regarding Muslims, Non-Muslims and the likes. Such labelling of persons as terrorists be avoided, Dr Singh said as terrorists had no particular religion or nationality.
The world should not remain stereotyped regarding Muslims and non-Muslims and such others and should develop a sense of tolerance and understanding. They should be allowed to lead a life of dignity, the Prime Minister added.
