Punjab to organise 'Parvasi Punjabi Sammelan' in January

Patiala, July 7 (UNI) Punjab government has decided to organise 'Parvasi Punjabi Sammelan' in the first week of January in Chandigarh on the pattern of 'Parvasi Bharatiya Smmelan'.

While announcing this in a press conference here today, MP and acting president of SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "In the three-day conference Punjab government will call upon all Punjabis who have settled abroad to come and see where Punjab stands now and what they can do for their home-state." He said, "The state is now an emerging destination for the foreign investment and this conference will assist Non Resident Punjabis to render their support for the development of their state." Mr Sukhbir Badal announced that Punjab Government had decided to set up ten police stations, to be called NRI police stations, exclusively for the Parvasi Punjabis where their cases and complaints would be disposed of speedily.
