Man gets seven years jail for killing his wife

Patna, Jul 7 (UNI) A local sessions court here today awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment to a person for killing his wife for dowry.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs one thousand against the convict.

The additional district and sessions judge of Patna B M Srivastava found Santosh Kumar, a resident of Majhauli village under Danapur police station area, guilty of killing his wife for dowry.

According to the charges, the victim was killed under Danapur police station area of Patna district by her husband, when her parents failed to fulfill the demand of a motorcycle and TV in dowry on May 18, 2003.
