Light rains, westerlies bring relief from humid conditions

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) After warm and humid conditions over the last couple of days, the rain Gods today smiled on Delhiites again with light showers cooling down the capital city.

Despite the low amount of rainfall, the showers and the cool breeze came as a welcome relief to Delhiites, who have been experiencing warm and humid conditions over the last couple of days.

Although only 3 mm of rains were recorded till 1730 hours, the showers, accompanied by cool Westerly winds, brought the maximum temperature down to 36 degrees Celsius, from 37.2 degree C yesterday.

The pleasantness in the weather could continue for the next couple of days with the heavily overcast sky indicating the possibility of more rains later during the day or tonight.

Weathermen have forecast some more rainfall at Delhi and other parts of Northwest India during the next two days.

Earlier this morning, Delhiites woke up to another sunny day, with the clouds continuing to play hide and seek with the city.

The minimum rose to 29.5 degrees C, one degree above normal.

However, as the day progressed the sky turned heavily overcast.

Subsequently, the rain and the cool winds brought the minimum down to 26.6 degrees C, one degree below normal.

The met office have forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.

After moderate to heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday, the capital has witnessed a warm and humid weather in the subsequent days with the maximum rising to 37.2 degrees C yesterday.
