Left delegation in China to study model of growth
New Delhi, July 7: A high-level delegation of the CPI(M) is currently on a eight-day visit to China to study their model of growth.
''We have already undertaken tours to various urban and rural pockets to understand the model of growth adopted for the development of infrastucture, industry and Special Economic Zones (SEZs),'' delegation member Brinda Karat told sources over phone from Wuhai of the Hubai province.
Ms Karat said the five-member delegation had left India on July 2 and will return on July 10. The other members of the delegation are, Mr S R Pillai, Mr Hanan Mollah, Pushpinder Dewan and Mr Arun Mehta.
Ms Karat said they also visited those areas which are to be developed as 'Socialist Societies.'
The delegation will submit the study report to the party central leadership to draw ''requisite lessons'', if any, she added.
