Hamirpur-to get 419 MT food grain
Shimla, July 7 (UNI) Ministry for Rural Development approved the release of 419 metric tonne (MT) foodgrain for Hamirpur for the year 2007-08.
Union government spokesperson today said the Centre will give the approval for release of 314 MT wheat and 180 MT of common rice.
The foodgrain will be distributed for the Sampoorana Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) in the district.
The spokesperson said the Food Corporation of India would supply the foodgrains to Hamirpur. There are two central schemes adopted in the state--National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) and SGRY.
NREGA is running in four districts while SGRY is being run in five districts, he added.
