Free text books under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan scheme

Guntur, July 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Minister M Hanumantha Rao today said free text books will be provided to students of all elementary schools in Andhra Pradesh using Sarva Siksha Abhiyan fund.

Laying the foundation stone for the Rs 85 lakh office building of the district education office here, he said the text books distribution programme would be completed in a fortnight.

The Minister said the state government was committed to ensure that the quality of instruction in goverenment and quasi-government schools was on par with corporate educational institutions.

He said additional classrooms would be constructed in about 800 schools in the district this year.
