BRO yet to hand over NH to State PWD Department

Shillong, July 7 (UNI) Meghalaya Transport Minister Deborah C Marak today asked the Border Road Organisation (BRO) to hand over the 20-km stretch of National Highway 62 to the PWD for proper maintenance.

The 20-km stretch of NH-62 within the state touching Siju, Baghmara and Dalu is in a very bad shape, as coal-laden trucks plied regularly, while the BRO failed to repair the roads.

Ms Marak said that the latter is yet to take action on the government's request for handing over the highway to PWD(Roads) for better maintenance of the same road.
