K'taka: Baghamandala receives heavy rainfall

Bangalore, July 7: Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Monsoon was active over South Interior Karnataka and weak over North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Bhagamandala 20, Sakleshpura 17, Kollur 16, Kammardi 15, Kottigehara 13.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Sringeri 12, Subramanya, Ballupet, Koppa 11 each, Dharmasthala, Madikeri, Somwarpet, Jayapura 10 each, Siddapura, Balehonnur 9 each, Madapura 8.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Puttur, Karkala, N.R.Pura 6 each, Mani, Siddapura, Ponampet 5 each, Mudibidre, Mangalore AP, Udupi, Joida, Talaguppa, Hallimysore 4 each, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Sargur 3 each.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka, at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts, at many places over Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Shimoga districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of the State.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Fisheries warning: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Local forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of light rain likely. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times.
