3 militants killed, LeT-TuM module busted, RDX recovered in J

Srinagar, July 7 (UNI) Three militants were killed, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) module busted and a huge cache of arms and ammunition including the deadly RDX recovered by the security forces and police in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

An official spokesman an encounter took place between militants and security forces during a search operation at Dandian in Poonch district of Jammu region.

During the operation one LeT militant Abu Hyder Jarar was killed, and a house damaged in the shootout.

He said two militants were killed in a similar encounter at Kulgam in south Kashmir. The slain militants were identified as Abass Sheir Gojri alias Basit and Tariq Ahmad Ganai of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). Two AK rifles, two magazines and one hand grenade were recovered from the slain militants.

Police claimed to have arrested eight militants of LeT and TuM at Tral in south Kashmir who were planning to carry out grenade attacks in Srinagar. One ak rifle, 12 hand grenades, 8 magzines, two pistols and 48 rounds of ammunition were recovered from their possession.

Security forces and police during a search operation busted a hideout and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including five pistols, eleven magazines, four UBGLs, one UBGL grenade, seven hand grenades, ten detonators, one rocket booster, two ATR grenades, 8 kg explosives and RDX, and more than 2600 rounds of ammunition at markote Palara Mandi in Poonch.

Four hand grenades were recovered from Dungi Nallah while labourers today recovered three AK magazines and 90 rounds from a well which were later handed over to police at Dangiwacha in Baramulla district.
