VDC man shoots himself dead in Reasi

Jammu, July 6 (UNI) A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his .303 rifle in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police today said.

Romail Singh, 22, of Nomal village shot himself with an official weapon rifle at his residence last night during his brother's marriage party, they said.

The cause behind taking the extreme step is being ascertained, police added.

The body of Singh was handed over to his relatives after autopsy.
