Two militants killed, soldier wounded in Kashmir
Srinagar, July 6 (UNI) Security forces shot dead two militants while a soldier was seriously wounded in separate incidents in the Kashmir valley since last evening, official sources said today.
They said security forces laid an ambush at Warsun Dardpora village of frontier Kupwara district this afternoon and challenged a group of militants, passing through the area.
The militants opened fire on the security personnel, which was effectively retaliated, resulting in a fierce gun-battle.
The sources said a militant was killed in the gunfight while searches were being conducted to nab the other ultras.
In an another encounter at Sogam in Lolab area of the same district early this morning, security forces shot dead a militant and seized an AK 47 rifle and other ammunition from him.
Meanwhile, a fierce gun-battle has erupted at Hassanpora Kulgam in south Kashmir this afternoon in which a soldier has been wounded so far, the sources said.
The injured was shifted to a hospital, they said, adding reinforcements were rushed to the area.
