Two held for extortion

Kaithal, July 6 (UNI) Haryana Police has arrested two members of a gang who had been issuing threats to a local plywood dealer.

Giving this information to mediapersons here today , SP Rajinder Singh said that the owner of Jagdamba Plywood shop near Hindu School here lodged a complaint with the police that he had received threatening calls, in which the caller demanded Rs two lakh and threatened him with dire consequences for failure to pay the demanded money .

The SP said that after intensive investigation the police arrested Birbhan of Harsola village who was a former employee of the plywood dealer and his accomplice Naresh also from the same village.

However, Birbhan's cousin, Jindal who was also involved in the case was absconding, he said. The efforts were on to nab him, SP added .
