Top LeT militant, two OGWs arrested in Doda

Jammu, July 6 (UNI) Police today arrested a hardcore local Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant along with two over ground workers (OGWs) and recovered Rs 1.97 lakh from his possession in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI that LeT militant Bashir Ahmed Bande of Bagla Barth village was arrested at Parmaz near Doda town along with two local OGWs, identified as Javed Ahmad and Farid Ahmad of Gool area in Reasi.

Bande was associated with Harklet-ul-Ansar militant outfit and had surrendered before security forces on November 15, 1996, but again he joined militancy after few months.

Three grenades and other explosives were also recovered from the militants, the SSP said.
