Syndicate Bank launches sale of gold coins

Bangalore, July 6: Syndicate Bank today launched the sale of gold coins under the brand name 'SYNDSONA' through 104 select branches of the bank, spread across eight States.

The coins were available in four gm, eight gm and ten gm, in a tamper-proof card with 999.9 purity, a bank release here said.

Bank Chairman C P Swarnkar said that in keeping with the image of the 'small man's big bank', the rates of the coins would be competitive compared to other banks, to enable the common man to buy gold.

The Bank had imported the gold coins from Switzerland and its tie-up arrangement with existing clients and corporates should enable the Bank to offer competitive rates to its customers, he said.
