Suspended MSU dean manhandled by ABVP men

Ahmedabad, July 6 (UNI) Suspended dean of the M S University in Vadodara Shivaji K Panikkar was slapped by ABVP activists, 20, outside the gates of St Xavier's High School in Navrangpura area of the city today.

He had come to the city from Vadodara to inaugurate a painting exhibition 'Ekta' at St Xavier's school. The incident occurred near the gate of the school where more than 20 ABVP Activiats Manhandled him when he was about to enter the venue, police said.

Mr Panikkar later filed a complaint against the activists with the Navrangpura police station. In his complaint, he stated that he and his driver were roughed up by the men.

Mr Panikkar was suspended for supporting a fine arts student Chandramohan, who was arrested over an obscene painting of Goddess Durga and Jesus Christ.

UNI
