Single window clearance boosts investments in AP

Hyderabad, July 6 (UNI) ''Simplified regulations, proactive labour and fiscal reforms, incentives and single-window clearance system are the key strengths of Andhra Pradesh that help the state win private investment,'' Minister for Infrastructure and Investment, Ports, Airports and Natural Gas M Venkata Ramana Rao today said.

Delivering the special address on 'the State Integrated Infrastructure Promotion - Andhra Pradesh', at Suminfra 2007, a two-day Summit on Sustainable PPPs in Infrastructure, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, Mr Rao said as a technology leader across a wide range of products and services, Andhra Pradesh had become a destination of choice for foreign investors and multinationals.

The Minister pointed out the government's 'New Industrial Policy 2005 - 2010' gave the highest priority to the industrial due to the vital role it played in balanced and sustainable economic growth.

Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) had emerged as an important mechanism for enabling investments in infrastructure.

The Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, (AP-IDEA), was aimed at providing a comprehensive policy framework for private sector participation in infrastructure, a press release said quoting Mr Rao.
