Rs 15 lakh jewellery missing from bank locker

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) A complaint was today lodged at Daryaganj police station in Central Delhi by a woman alleging that jewellery worth nearly Rs 15 lakh were missing from her locker in Vijaya Bank.

Complainant Neera Jain, who had owned the locker at Vijaya Bank Daryaganj branch, for the last 15 years alleged that today at about 1100 hrs when she went to check her locker she found her 'assets' missing, said a senior police official.

She, however, did not report the matter immediately to the bank and instead went to enquire about the 'missing assets' with her family members as she had not visited the locker since January 24 this year.

After she returned at about 1230 hrs, she informed the bank authorities about the 'theft', along with the police, after which the report was filed.

Meanwhile, Neera's cousin Bharat Jain told the media that there was gold and diamond jewellery worth 15 lakh in the locker and his sister had gone there to fetch them as she was to participate in a family function tomorrow.

Neera's husband Rishabh Jain has a garment business in Gandhi Nagar.
