Patna, July 6 (UNI) RJD's national spokesman Shyam Rajak today announced that his party would bring privilege notice in the Assembly against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not following the reservation rules despite an assurance on the floor of the House.

Mr Rajak told reporters here that as per the reservation rule, only people of Bihar origin were entitled to get reservation, while the Nitish Kumar government was extending these facilities to even those hailing from other states.

Mr Kumar had earlier assured the Assembly that the state government would strictly adhere to the reservation rules in appointments and promotions in government services, he said.

'' Contrary to assurance of Mr Kumar on the floor of the Assembly, the state government had issued instruction to extend reservation facilities to those hailing from other states, '' he said adding this was against the interest of the Scheduled Castes(SCs), Scheduled Tribes(STs) and Other Backward Classes(OBCs) of the state.

'' After Jharkhand was carved out from Bihar in November, 2000, the state government had reduced the reservation quota of STs from 10 per cent to 1 per cent, '' Mr Rajak pointed out and lamented that even this minimal reservation quota was being denied to tribes of Bihar as a major chunk of their share was slipping into the hands of tribes of other states due to the ''erring'' policy of the Nitish Kumar government.
