RJD activists observe fast in support of Pratibha

Chennai, July 6 (UNI) Members of the Tamil Nadu unit of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today observed a token fast here, condemning the Bharatiya Janata Party's continuous ''false propaganda'' against UPA-Left Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil.

In a statement, party state President A P Kesavan said instead of lauding the UPA's decision to field a woman candidate for the country's highest post, the BJP was levelling ''unwarranted, false allegations'' against Ms Patil.

He sought that the BJP stop spreading such allegations against Ms Patil immediately and alleged that such act by the saffron party ''showed its political jealousy''.
