Railways to run special Rajdhani between Delhi and Patna
New Delhi, Jul 6 (UNI) With a view to clearing extra rush of passengers, the Railways will run a bi-Weekly Rajdhani Special between Rajendra Nagar (Patna) and New Delhi stations till July 16.
The 2309A Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi bi-Weekly Rajdhani special train will depart from Rajendra Nagar at 2039 hrs from on every Thursday and Sunday to arrive at New Delhi at 0950 hrs the next day.
The first of this train commenced its run yesterday, a ministry official said today.
In the return direction, the 2310A New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Rajdhani special train will depart from New Delhi at 1705 hrs from July 7 August 18 on every Tuesday and Saturday to arrive at Rajendra Nagar at 0610 hrs the next day.
Consisting of one First AC, four AC 2-tier, five AC 3-tier and two brake van coaches, the train will halt at Kanpur, Allahabad, Mughalsarai and Patna stations enroute in both the directions.
East Central Railway (ECR) sources said a total of 13 pairs of ''Rajdhani specials'' between Patna and New Delhi would run from July 5 to August 18 to clear the sudden rush of passengers.
The sudden hike in the demand of tickets for Delhi had forced the Railway authorities to run these Rajdhani specials along with the regular Rajdhani express.
This is for the first time that such a large number of Rajdhani specials have been introduced to clear the rush of passengers from one city.
