Prof hearing: Recording of statement of last witnesses tomorrow

Ujjain, MP, July 6 (UNI) Recording of statement of last five witnesses in Madhav College's Professor H S Sabharwal's murder in student violence last year would start before a new judge tomorrow.

Prof Sabharwal was killed when he was attacked by students irked over postponement of student unions election on August 26, 2006. Six ABVP workers, including the then state ABVP President Shashi Ranjan Akela, were named accused in the case.

All the accused were arrested. Five accused are lodged in central jail, while one accused Vishal Rajoria has been released on parole for 15 days by the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench to enable him attend his sister's marriage.

So far, 48 witnesses have recorded their statements, while five witnesses have to record their statements.
