Pratibha Patil to campaign in HP on Sunday

Shimla, July 6 (UNI) UPA's Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil will campaign in Himachal Pradesh on July 8.

Secretary of the State Congress Committee S P Katyal said Ms Patil would be in Shimla on July 8 and interact with Congress Legislature Members for her support in the Presidential election.

She will leave for Dehli on July 9. The pristine Hotel Peterholf will be the venue for the interaction.

He said, in a release, that Congress Working Committee member and party incharge of the state will arrive in Shimla on July 7. He will meet State Congress president Viplove Thakur and activists of frontal organisations at Solan. Mr. Dhawan would arrive at Shimla on the same day and later join Ms Patil for the campaign.

He said both will review the party affairs and interact with Congress Members of Legislature.

Himachal Pradesh has 68 MLAs, 43 Congress members, five independents supporting Congress, and 17 BJP and one BJP associate member and one Lok Janshakti Party member.

One BJP MLA had resigned taking the number of members in the Assembly to 67.

Four Lok Sabha and three Rajya Sabha members will vote for presidential poll from Himachal Pradesh.
