NCP legislator Halarnkar sworn in as Parliamentary Secretary
Panaji, Jul 6 (UNI) Nilkanth Halarnkar, recently elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly from Tivim constituency on NCP ticket, was today appointed as Parliamentary Secretary.
He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat at a function at the secretariat complex in Porvorim.
He had been in politics for about 20 years and served the people as sarpanch of Colvale before becoming the legislator.
With this, all the three NCP legislators in the coalition government have been accommodated in the government.
The State NCP President Dr Wilfred De Souza, tourism minister Francisco Xavier Pascheco, Revenue Minister Jose Philip D'Souza (both NCP legislators) besides Chief Secretary J P Singh were present on the occasion.
