MCI nod for counselling conveyed to TN CM

Chennai, July 6 (UNI) The Medical Council of India (MCI) has given permission to the Tamil Nadu Government to go ahead with counselling for admission of students at government medical colleges in Vellore, Theni and Kanniyakumari.

The decision taken by Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss was conveyed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, an official press release here tonight said.

The MCI had earlier pointed out some flaws in staff promotion system. The air was cleared after a delegation from the state gave an explanation to the Union Minister and officials.
