Last rites of RSS pracharak performed
New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) The last rites of senior RSS pracharak and national campaign chief Adheesh Bhatnagar, who passed away yesterday after a prolonged illness, were held here today.
Bhatnagar, 52, was suffering from intestinal cancer since last year.
He is survived by parents and other family members.
RSS Chief K S Sudarshan and other top RSS leaders paid their last respects at Nigambodh Ghat, where his body was cremated.
Bhatnagar's cornea was removed just before cremation as per his wish, a RSS release said Bhatnagar, who joined the RSS during Emergency, had worked with the organisation for three decades and workied as Pracharak in Uttar Pradesh. He was national media in charge for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) -- the student wing of the RSS -- before he was taken in the parent organisation as Prachar Pramukh.
Actively involved in planing of celebrations on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the First War of Independence, he was asked to write a book on the matter but succumbed to the illness before he could complete the task.
