Lalu Yadav to inaugurate newly laid lines
Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav will inaugurate the newly-quadrupled railway lines between Borivali and Virar suburban section of the Western Railway tomorrow.
Mr Yadav will also flag-off a suburban service from Borivali station to mark the introduction of 20 additional locals, which the WR authorities have planned to run to ease commuters' congestion, an official release said here today.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will also be present on the occasion, the release said.
Western Railway recently completed the work of laying additional 26-km long track. The work, a part of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP), was completed six months before the scheduled time, the release added.
