Haryana varsity to be Cambridge sub-centre

Chandigarh, July 6 (UNI) The Cambridge University of UK has agreed to declare Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya at Khanpur Kalan (Sonepat) in Haryana as its sub-centre for certification in English language proficiency.

The Vishwavidyalaya, North India's first Women University, would thus become the first sub centre of Cambridge University in the country, Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda said today.

He said a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed with the Cambridge University on August 2 to enable girl students to acquire international certification in spoken English such as Cambridge Business English Certificates (BEC) and Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT).

This would be a collaborative project of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidhalya, Cambridge University and the British Council.
