Haryana to promote export of agriculture products
Chandigarh, July 6 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to promote the export of agriculture and horticulture products of the state in a big way so as to benefit the farmers in getting remunerative prices of their produce.
An official spokesman said the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board had invited expression of interest from consultants and companies having actual experience of working with exporting firms and government organisations involved in exports of these products in order to identify the export potential of agriculture and horticulture products in the state.
Besides identifying the export potential in the state, the consultants and companies would also formulate plans and schemes for promotion of exports along with actual exports of agriculture and horticulture products from the state.
The consultants and companies would also organise training of farmers in export preparedness, quality standards and good pre and post harvest management practices.
The interested companies would have to submit their applications by July 15 to be short listed by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board for this purpose, he added.
