Govt to release more stocks of rice, onions to market

Hyderabad, July 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies Kasu Krishna Reddy today said more stocks of rice, onions, tamarind, pulses and plam oil would be released to the market to control the price hike.

Mr Krishna Reddy said the Civil Supplies Department would now release 100 metric tonnes of Palm Oil for distribution at the rate of Rs 46.50 per kg through Fair Price shops, Rythu bazaars and other Civil Supplies Department counters.

More quantities of onions were being procured from Nasalgram near Nasik in Maharashtra for release to the market.

He said the Civil Supplies Department in coordination with other departments was taking every possible step to bring down the prices of essential commodities, including tomatoes.
