Foreign reserves at USD 213.486 billion

Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) India's Foreign reserves this week rose by USD 937 million at USD 213.486 billion from USD 212.549 billion in the previous week, Reserve bank's weekly statistical report said today.

According to the weekly report, the foreign currency assets were up by USD 936 million to USD 206.114 billion from USD 205.178 billion in the last week. Moreover, the gold reserves this week remained unchanged at USD 6.9 billion.

India's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has gone up by one million to USD 460 million from USD 459 million in the previous week.

The aggregate deposits of scheduled commercial banks in India went up by Rs 22,413 crore this week at Rs 26,68,187 crore from Rs 26,45,774 crore in the last week.

The foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms includes the effect of appreciation or depreciation of major world currencies, said RBI.

The foreign exchange reserves include India's reserve tranche position in the IMF.
