Doctors stop kidney transplantation surgeries in AP
Hyderabad, July 6 (UNI) Nephrologists working in Government and private corporate hospitals today stopped conducting kidney transplantation surgeries in the State demanding that the State Government conduct DNA test on Radhika, who had donated her kidney to her father to ascertain the facts in the light of her allegation that the donated kidney was sold to somebody.
Addressing the Press here, Osmania Medical College Professor A Gopal Kishan said the doctors stopped performing kidney transplantation in the State from today. ''We want to know whether the allegations made by Ms Radhika is true. The Government should also clarify the doubts raised by the donor and make public the fact finding expert committee report, submitted to it.'' Stating that the DNA test on Ms Radhika and the donated kidney, kept in the Osmania hospital would only disclose the facts, he said the transplanted kidney failed after functioning well for two days. Doctors, who conducted the transplantation, did their job perfectly, He claimed, adding that the kidney had failed due to the failure of vessels.
He said the doctors would continue their agitation until the DNA test was conducted on Ms Radhika and her donated kidney.
Ms Radhika had alleged that the kidney donated by her was sold to private people, while a disfunctioned kidney was transplanted to her father by the doctors of Osmania Government Hospital recently.
