Dawoodi Bohras set up own business centre

Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) World's first Burhaniyah Business Counselling Centre (BBCC), an international Dawoodi Bohra community Business Centre, was inaugurated by senior community leader, Syedi Mukasir Saheb Hussain Bhai Sahen Husamuddin today.

The business counselling Centre is part of the economic upliftment and welfare programme of the Dawoodi Bohra community that was initiated by its spiritual leader His Holiness Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin.

The centre will act as a facilitator and provide expert advice to Dawoodi Bohras in production, administration, marketing, human resources, policies and on legal matters.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin has consistently emphasized and assisted the community members to indulge in business and self-employment, a release here said today.

Taking this aspect into consideration, BBCC will encourage and support community members to establish businesses and also provide know-how to aspiring businesspersons, the release said.

The Centre shall also encourage and arrange finance by sanctioning Qardhan Hasanah (interest-free loans as prescribed in Quran) to Dawoodi Bohra businessmen for business expansion and diversification.

Before setting up the Centre, a committee named Burhaniyah Business Counselling Committee was formed in 2005 by Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) to do market research on business prospects across the world.

At present, a blue print on business prospects and opportunities in the port city of Mundra in Gujarat and in countries like Australia and New Zealand have been prepared by the Committee.

Assistance in migration and finance shall be given by BBCC to set-up micro and macro businesses establishments in these places.

Modern communication tools such as internet, blogs, SMS, video conferencing are to be used to communicate and exchange data. A website 'www.bbcconline.org' has also been launched for community members to know more about the BBCC. The Centre is also publishing international business directories to be distributed worldwide, the release added.
