Chartered Accountants get relief to pay developement charges.

New Delhi, Jul 6 (UNI) Delhi High Court today gave interim relief to Chartered Accountants and refrained Delhi Developement Authority(DDA), Muncipal Corporation of Delhi(MCD) and Urban Developement Ministry to collect any developement or parking charges from the professionals who are working from home.

A bench comprising Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice S L Bhayana stayed the proceedings of DDA's November 20, 2006 regulation by which it has demanded conversion and parking charges to be paid on the basis of 'one time costs' till July 30.

Chartered Accountants and architects had demanded that they fall under the category of professional activities, therefore they be exempted from paying such charges as the Master Plan 2021 has allowed the professionals to use 50 per cent of their residential place for professional activities.

Delhi high court had earlier allowed an interim stay to lawyers and doctors to pay the charges.
